Generalized bases of finite groups

چکیده

Motivated by recent results on the minimal base of a permutation group, we introduce new local invariant attached to arbitrary finite groups. More precisely, subset Delta group G is called p-base (where p prime) if generates p-group and C_G(Delta) p-nilpotent. Building Halasi-Mar\'oti, prove that p-solvable groups possess p-bases size 3 for every prime p. For other prominent exhibit 2. In fact, conjecture existence 2 group. Finally, notion generalized blocks fusion systems.

On medium-size subgroups and bases of finite groups

In this paper G denotes a finite group. A subset A of G is called a basis of G if A2 = G, where A2 = (ab 1 a, b E A }. The minimal cardinality of a basis of G will be denoted by v(G). The problem of estimating r(G) for cyclic groups was first proposed by I. Schur and various bounds were obtained by Rohrbach [Rl], Moser [M], Stohr [S], Klotz [K], and others. In [R2], Rohrbach dealt with bases fo...

Some measures of finite groups related to permutation bases

I define three “measures” of the complicatedness of a finite group in terms of bases in permutation representations of the group, and consider their relationships to other measures.

finite groups, and mutually unbiased bases, a unifying approach.

Abstract: We study the relationship between Bell states, finite groups and complete sets of bases. We show how to obtain a set of N + 1 bases in which Bell states are invariant. They generalize the X, Y and Z qubit bases and are associated to groups of unitary transformations that generalize the sigma operators of Pauli. When the dimension N is a prime power, we derive (in agreement with well-k...

On Torsion-free Groups with Finite Regular File Bases

The following question was asked by V. V. Bludov in The Kourovka Notebook in 1995: If a torsion-free group G has a finite system of generators a1, . . . , an such that every element of G has a unique presentation in the form a k1 1 · · · a kn n where ki ∈ Z, is it true that G is virtually polycyclic? The answer is “not always.” A counterexample is constructed in this paper as a group presented ...
